Get Started with Impact Dashboard in 4 Simple Steps
Step 1: Define your key measures of success
Zeroed-In will facilitate a measurement strategy workshop that helps you identify the key measures of success for your organizational efforts and strategic initiatives. The outcome of this workshop is a series of quantifiable metrics, called key measures, organized for each viewing audience into strategic or tactical scorecards.
Strategic scorecards measure success of an initiative by aligning the key measures under strategic goals and objectives. The key measures automatically roll up to key indicators on the strategic scorecard to measure success of the strategy or initiative. Strategic scorecards are commonly targeted towards senior managers and executives.
Tactical scorecards are a simple means for organizing, capturing, and monitoring key measures. Tactical scorecards best reflect the traditional dashboard concept and are commonly targeted towards line managers as well as the entire hierarchy up to the executive level.
Step 2: Integrate out-of-the-box with your learning, talent, HR, and business systems.
Impact Dashboard contains a built-in integration toolkit to retrieve key measure data directly from your underlying data sources. The toolkit connects directly to Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or any ODBC-compliant data source including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, even text files.
During the initial implementation, Zeroed-In will write these integration definitions for you but also teach you and your support staff how to write them. It's simple Structured Query Language (SQL). We're experts in data extraction and transformation, specifically from learning, talent, and HR systems. These key measure integration definitions then get scheduled to recur on a regular basis (usually nightly or weekly) to extract, transform, and load the key measure data from your transactional systems into the Impact Dashboard repository for analysis, trending, and reporting.
Step 3: Assign users to their appropriate scorecards
Users of the dashboard get assigned to one or more scorecards. Their scorecard privileges are controlled by security roles that you create based on a series of authorized security rights. Not only can you control access to specific scorecards for users, but you can control visibility to specific data on a scorecard based on demographic filters (e.g. Org IDs, Instructor IDs, etc.).
Step 4: Monitor progress against defined targets and improve!
Every measure can have associated target values, either a one time target or rolling targets over time. The success of your initiatives is based on your key measures progress toward the defined targets. Impact Dashboard provides immediate visibility at a summary and detail level of how your initiatives are performing. You can set alert notifications when data values surpass thresholds so you're informed about what's happening when you're not using the dashboard and what actions (corrective or otherwise) need to be taken.
